(More customer reviews)I use this filter at my office and they are exactly what they claim to be.Interesting that other reviewer thinks 3M filters are not Nominal, since they very clearly are.Some cheap filters are made less nominal, but always fit way too tightly and are difficult to remove/install.Besides, WHY WOULD YOU BUY SOMETHING AND NOT READ THE DESCRIPTION???Obviously there is a limit to the length of a product listing title, which is why Amazon products have detailed listing pages. It's not like the info is hidden away in fine print...Easy to blame stupidity and ignorance on someone else.

Other brands suffer the same performance degradation as well, but are not as sneaky and misleading as 3M.Appendix J was created to simulate "Real World" performance by pre-conditioning filters with a minimal amount of dust before they are tested.For most filters, the efficiency should remain the same, or even increase or decrease by up to 5%.3M Filtrete filters all show a decrease of 15-30% in efficiency rating.This is due to an over-enhancement with electrostatic charge, which is a way to make lower grade filter media reach a higher initial efficiency.Low grade filter media + a great marketing team + a whole lot of money = 3M Filtrete.
